About this site.
The Parley Biomethane Plant in Christchurch is a major development in Dorset’s renewable energy push. Designed to process up to 70,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, the site converts local food waste into biomethane for grid injection and produces digestate for agricultural use. With two large digesters, a hybrid end store, pre storage tanks, pasteurisation, and a modern upgrading system, the facility will generate around 60 GWh of renewable gas annually and support the region’s circular economy.

What we did.
ConstructionCrew Ltd delivered a full installation package across the entire AD process. Our team constructed the stainless steel tanks on site, including the two 28 metre digesters, the matching hybrid end store, and the two 10 metre pre storage tanks.
We installed all mixing equipment, including submersible mixers, Biobull agitators, and the complete gas mixing system. Structural elements such as walkways and gantries were fitted to provide safe access throughout the plant.
CCL installed the modular heating and pasteurisation system, the solid feeding system, and all tank related pipework supporting heating, recirculation, gas management and feeding. We fitted all three double membrane gas roofs, each providing 1,550 cubic metres of gas storage and full integration with the blower and pressure control systems.
Beyond the tank area, we installed the site’s emergency flare and the biogas upgrading unit, ensuring clean separation of biomethane ready for grid injection.
Sustainability & Regional Impact.
CCL worked closely with Weltech, and specialist equipment suppliers to deliver each installation safely and on programme. Close coordination with civils, mechanical and electrical teams ensured the plant’s systems were integrated smoothly.
Partnership & Collaboration.
The Parley plant transforms Dorset’s organic waste into renewable gas that directly replaces fossil fuels. CCL’s installation work supports efficient digestion, strong gas capture and reliable upgrading performance, helping the region cut emissions and build long term energy resilience.
